The Emery County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of Monday's lightning strike death on the Wedge Overlook as Joseph Louis Geiser, age 56, of Price.

The emergency call came into the Emery County Sheriff's Dispatch that a man had been struck by lightning in the area of the Wedge Overlook at 3:55 p.m.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a family member was performing CPR when personnel arrived on the scene. The emergency personnel were unable to revive Geiser, and he passed away at the scene.
